About Michael Lienert
Professional Background
Michael Lienert’s career is defined by a consistent ability to build — teams, pipelines, partnerships, and revenue — in environments where the path forward is rarely predetermined.
He began in Los Angeles with a challenge few professionals encounter early in a career: selling a major league soccer club that did not yet exist. As one of the first hires at Los Angeles Football Club, Lienert joined before LAFC had played a single match, before Banc of California Stadium had opened its doors, and before the club had established any identity in one of the world’s most competitive sports and entertainment markets. The task required leading with vision rather than product — building long-term trust with corporate partners and premium clients around an idea, a story, and a future. By the time the stadium opened, the premium inventory was sold through and the club’s founding partner roster was set. That foundation helped LAFC become one of professional soccer’s most successful expansion clubs.
Lienert subsequently transitioned to the Los Angeles Chargers and the SoFi Stadium project, again with Legends Hospitality, where he led suite sales during the stadium’s formative phase. The Chargers had relocated from San Diego, which meant rebuilding a premium client base in Los Angeles essentially from scratch while simultaneously introducing a world-class venue redefining the standard for sports and entertainment globally. He led a team that delivered one of the most successful early-phase premium sales launches for a new stadium in professional sports, building a multi-year pipeline grounded in relationship development and strategic positioning.
Those Los Angeles years shaped a leadership philosophy centered on long-term thinking, precision in outreach, and the ability to sell value before it is visible. Lienert carried that approach into senior roles with the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Fire FC, where he oversaw premium sales, partnerships, private events, and broader revenue strategy. He also served as General Manager of Vue Orleans, a Legends-managed venue in New Orleans, leading hospitality and premium experience operations at the venue level.
